Science Department of Malwa Central College of Education for Women in association with Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha celebrated National Science Day on 0<span lang="EN">7-03-2018</span>. The theme of the programme was ‘Darwin’s contribution to Society’. The programme started with shabad recital and lightening of lamp. Dr. Naginder Kaur, Principal of the college presided over the function and formally welcomed the chief guests and other dignitaries. Mrs. Balwinder Kaur, District Science Supervisor was the chief guest and Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur, councilor, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana was Guest of Honour.</div>

A declamation contest on the same theme was held, in which six students participated.  Shri Ranjit Singh President of Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha apprised the students about the life and work of the first Indian Nobel Lauriat C.V. Raman. Shri M.S. Bhatia, Organizing Secretary of Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha appraised the audience about the contribution of Darwin in explaining the origin of man and role of evolution. Mrs. Kusum Lata, National Awardee and Principal of Govt. High School, Sarabha Nagar spoke about the life of Charles Darwin and how the present theories have provided evidence for the Theory of Evolution given by Darwin. To sensitize the audience about the wastage of natural resources and their conservation, a power point presentation on ‘Save Planet’ was given by Harpreet Kaur and Sheenam. Mrs. Balwinder Kaur shared her views on the importance of science in daily life and the importance of inculcating the scientific attitude among students. A skit was also presented by science students to showcase the nuisance of superstition and making the audience aware about value of science in day to day life. Science contribution in man’s life was showcased beautifully by students through a Mime. Dr. Mandeep Kaur presented formal vote of thanks.</div>

D. Jain College of Education as on March 7, 2018 on the topic “PERSONAL HYGIENE”. Ms Vandana Patyal, Campaign Manager, Proctor and Gamble India Limited apprised all about the need and Importance of keeping once personal health and hygiene up. She discussed at length about the various problems that a woman dwindled with during the menstruation period every month. She suggested the ways to combat all those and to lead life happily and vigorously even during those days. She also criticized the various malice practices carrying on in few societies even in these days and suggested the girl students to not to get trapped in all those. She suggested that every woman should use sanitary napkins as it is the safest and healthier than other available options.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

The chief guest gave prizes to 144 students of B.Ed., M.Ed. and Polytechnic (MIPSS) for their achievements in Curricular and co-curricular activities. He advised the future teachers that with their teaching they should transform the education in a joyful activity to create the interest of the students in subjects. They also advocate that every teacher should approach to their students, who are with diverse culture, individually. The medium of communication should be able to address the diverse needs and language diversity of the class.  </div>

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 13px;">ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, 5 ਮਾਰਚ (ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ)-ਇਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਬ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਕੁੱਬਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚਲਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀਣਤਾ ਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਟ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਹੋਈਆ ਤਾਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਕੁੱਬ, ਕੈਂਸਰ, ਹੈਪੇਟਾਈਟਸ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ <b>ਓਰੀਸਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਬਾੜੇਵਾਲ</b> ਦੀ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਨੋਜਵਾਨ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਅੱਠਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੜਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਕੁੱਬ ਪੈਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਦੀ ਰੀੜ ਦੀ ਹੱਡੀ 75 ਡਿਗਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਮੁੜ ਗਈ  ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਦਾ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹੱਡੀ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਡਾ. ਦਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੱਕੜ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 20 ਸਾਲਾ ਬੀਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲੜਕੇ ਦੀ ਰੀੜ ਦੀ ਹੱਡੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ•ਾਂ ਮੁੜਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੁੱਬ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਇਲਾਜ ਲਈ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਸੰਬਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਲਈ ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਮੱਕੜ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੜਕੇ ਦਾ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 12 ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਲਗਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਲੜਕਾ ਆਮ ਦੀ ਤਰ•ਾਂ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਜਿਊਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰੀੜ ਦੀ ਹੱਡੀ ਖੋਲ ਕੇ ਮਣਕਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 22 ਟਾਈਟੈਨੀਅਮ ਪੇਚ ਵਰਤੇ ਗਏ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਅਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਾਫੀ ਜੋਖਮ ਭਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਡਾ. ਆਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਵਰਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪੁਰੀ ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਡਾ. ਮਨੀਸ਼ਾ ਮਿੱਤਲ, ਡਾ. ਰਾਜਨ, ਡਾ. ਸੁਨੀਲ ਮਿੱਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿਊਕਿ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬਧ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਸਿਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਹੋਏ ਬੀਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੱਦ ਉਸਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਲੰਬਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।</span></div>
